The Fireboy-Xintex CMD6-M Series CO Alarm in black is powered by included maintenance-free lithium-metal batteries, without interconnect.

Black is the finish against the white version, and on a CO alarm the choice is about whether it should blend into a dark headlining or a light one. Function is identical between them, so this is purely about the interior it mounts in.

Battery power means no wiring, which puts an alarm in a cabin regardless of what circuits reach it. That matters because a carbon monoxide alarm belongs in every accommodation space, and the ones that go unfitted are usually the ones that would have needed wiring.

The sensor uses a Time Weighted Average process, calculating carboxyhemoglobin from CO concentration, temperature and elapsed time.
