EGIS 12/24V 250A Heavy-Duty Contactor

The EGIS 250A 12/24V High-Current Contactor remotely switches engine and auxiliary loads so heavy battery cable does not need to be routed to a manual switch. The hermetically sealed contactor is designed for wet, dusty, and high-temperature installations, helping reduce cable length, system weight, voltage drop, and installation complexity.

The contactor is ignition protected for closed compartments where explosive gases may be present and carries ISO 8846 / UL 1500 ignition-protection listings. It operates from a 9 to 36VDC control signal and can switch higher-voltage circuits up to 48V and beyond. The IP67/IP69K enclosure, 18-8 stainless self-locking hardware, and reinforced mounting points are intended to maintain reliable connections under corrosion, vibration, and engine-compartment heat from -40 to 85°C.

The manufacturer data lists continuous current as 250/500A and electrical endurance at 1,000,000 cycles. Current-specific switching tests include 6,000 cycles at 250A/450V and 100,000 cycles at 250A/14V. The contactor can also interrupt up to 1,500A at 14VDC in a locked-starter condition, providing a high fault-opening capability for heavy battery systems. EGIS includes a 4-year manufacturer warranty.
