EGIS XD 500A Heavy-Duty Battery Switch

The EGIS XD 500A Heavy-Duty Battery Switch is a high-current mechanical contactor for disconnecting battery power with less voltage drop and greater current capability than many traditional rotary switches. Silver-alloy contacts support full-voltage high-amperage switching, while the bright yellow manual knob gives the operator a clear local ON/OFF control that can remain locked in either state during service.

The XD case is sealed to IP67/IP6K9K and uses high-temperature materials, stainless cable studs, and large 1/4-20 or M6 mounting holes for harsh marine installations. The supplied protective cover shields the terminal studs and provides recessed spaces for circuit labels, including the included 40-circuit weatherproof label sheet. An integrated Gore-Tex vent regulates internal pressure to help keep moisture from migrating past the seals. The rectangular housing can surface mount or rear-panel mount and is narrower than many competing high-current switches.

Electrical ratings include 500A continuous current, up to 1,500A cranking current, an 8 to 36VDC operating range, M10 power studs, and silver-alloy contact material. The switch is ignition protected for use in gasoline-powered boats and other potentially combustible environments. Optional 8790 Link and 8791 Cross-Link busbars let it integrate with XD FLEX, ACR, and LVD relays in single-, dual-, or triple-circuit systems.
