Perko Heavy Duty Battery Selector Switch, 250A

The Perko Heavy Duty Battery Selector Switch is rated 250A continuous and 360A intermittent, for systems from 6 to 32 volts.

A selector switch chooses between banks, which is a different function from a disconnect switch that simply isolates. Off, one, two or both is the usual arrangement, and it lets a boat start on one bank while the house loads run from another. A disconnect switch gives only on and off.

Two hundred and fifty amps continuous with 360 intermittent for five minutes covers most starting and house-bank applications. The intermittent rating is what a starter motor draws for the moment it cranks, so both figures matter and the continuous one alone is not the whole picture.
