EGIS 40A 87 Series Panel-Mount Circuit Breaker

The EGIS 40A 87 Series Panel-Mount Circuit Breaker protects a DC branch from over-current conditions while also functioning as a manual service disconnect. It is designed for battery-backed electrical systems and packages the switching function in a sealed breaker that can be incorporated into a panel layout.

Common 12V and 24V systems are supported along with 36V and 48VDC applications. The sealed body limits dust and water intrusion, and ignition-protected construction is suited to enclosed electrical spaces. Full-current switching endurance is rated at 6,000 cycles, and the breaker is built with the interrupt capability needed for battery systems that can deliver heavy fault current.

The breaker uses stainless-steel hardware, vibration-resistant serrated flange nuts, and silicone terminal covers around the high-current connections. Its panel-oriented construction gives the installer a tidy way to add protection and manual switching to a DC distribution layout.
