This Digital Yacht Wi-Fi interface, built for the Pilot Plug found on Class A AIS gear, fills a real gap: well over 100,000 vessels worldwide still carry that older transponder standard, most of which rely on a standardized Amphenol "Pilot Plug" wired interface rather than the built-in wireless connectivity newer transponders like Digital Yacht's own CLA2000 already include.

Traditionally, a pilot or delivery captain needing AIS and GPS data from that plug would plug in a USB cable to feed a PC-based ECDIS system. PilotLINK2 changes that, giving any Class A transponder with a standard Pilot Plug genuine wireless connectivity to modern iPhones, tablets, PCs, and Macs, matching how most pilots and captains actually work today.
