Digital Yacht WLN10 Smart NMEA to WiFi Converter

The Digital Yacht WLN10 Smart is an NMEA 0183 to Wi-Fi gateway that sends GPS, AIS and instrument data to iPads and tablets. It creates a secure, password-protected Wi-Fi network on board. Compatible apps then show live data, such as AIS targets on electronic charts.

Setup is done through a browser, where you set 4800 or 38400 baud, the network name and password. The web interface also shows incoming NMEA data for easy troubleshooting. It supports UDP for multiple connections and TCP/IP for compatibility, so a PC at the chart table and an iPad on deck can both connect.

It's bi-directional, so apps can control an autopilot if that function is enabled. There's one configurable NMEA 0183 input, and Digital Yacht's SeaTalk adapter lets SeaTalk instruments connect too. Use the exact electrical ratings and connection points as the compatibility check rather than relying on housing size or product family alone. Browse more marine networking.
