The Condor Makara has an 18-inch satin 1075HC steel blade with an extended tang, a walnut handle and a brown leather sheath. Made in El Salvador.

Walnut on a machete is unusual, since most blades this size get molded plastic and walnut is heavier, needs occasional oiling and costs more, but it dampens vibration better than synthetic and warms to the hand rather than staying slick. 1075HC steel is tough rather than hard, so it takes repeated impact without chipping and sharpens back with a file. At 18 inches the blade has real speed at the tip, which is what severs green growth in a single pass. The leather sheath suits the walnut, though both want drying after wet work.
