At 18.5 inches with a full tang, this is a heavy blade by machete standards. The weight is the working principle: momentum does the cutting, so the swing needs less force from the arm and the edge has through thick growth rather than stopping in it. 1075HC steel is tough under impact and sharpens with a file, the right combination for a blade that will meet hidden knots and occasional soil.
