The Condor Bow Drill Socket is a stainless bowl fitted to a walnut handle, with a tan cord lanyard.

A bow drill needs a bearing block at the top of the spindle, and that block is where most attempts fail. A wooden hollow burns and binds, which stops the spindle turning at exactly the moment the coal is forming. A stainless bowl does not burn, does not wear and creates almost no friction at the top, so all the heat goes where it belongs at the bottom.

The walnut handle fills the palm so downward pressure comes from the arm rather than the fingers, which is what keeps the spindle seated. This is a friction-fire component rather than a complete kit.
