Description

The Cold Steel Roach Belly has a 4.5-inch satin German 4116 stainless blade at 8.5 inches overall, a black polypropylene handle and a lanyard hole.

The roach belly is a frontier pattern, a trade knife carried across North America in the 1700s and 1800s and named for the swelling curve along its edge. That curve is the working part. A belly this deep keeps edge against material through a long stroke, which suits skinning and camp butchery better than a straight blade.

4116 is a German stainless used widely in kitchen cutlery, chosen for corrosion resistance and easy resharpening rather than maximum edge holding. Polypropylene keeps the knife cheap and light, in keeping with a pattern that was always a working tool rather than a showpiece. Explore more Boot and Neck Knives.
