Description

The Cold Steel Kyoto II has a 3.38-inch black finish 8Cr13MoV stainless drop point blade at 6.75 inches overall, a black Kray-Ex handle, a steel guard, a lanyard hole and a black Secure-Ex belt sheath.

This is the drop point Kyoto II rather than the tanto version, and the shape changes what it does. A drop point sits the tip below the spine line with a long belly behind it, so it slices and skins where the tanto pierces. That makes it the more generally useful of the two for camp and field work, at the cost of tip strength.

Kray-Ex is Cold Steel's soft thermoplastic, tacky enough to hold when hands are wet and forgiving over a long session where a hard scale raises hot spots.
