Description

The Cold Steel Kyoto II has a 3.38-inch blackened 8Cr13MoV tanto blade, a black Kray-Ex handle, a steel guard and lanyard hole, 6.75 inches overall, and a black Secure-Ex belt sheath.

Everything on this version is black, from blade to handle to sheath, which is the point of it. A dark blade throws no reflection, so the knife stays unremarkable in low light where a satin finish would catch a beam and give itself away. The coating is the trade. It will eventually wear at the edge and high points, showing bright steel underneath, where a bare satin blade simply ages.

The tanto puts a reinforced corner at the front for piercing, and the steel guard keeps the hand behind the edge under a thrust.
