The Cold Steel Magnum Warcraft is closer to a short sword than a knife, with 12 inches of stonewashed 4034 stainless tanto blade running full tang through a black FRN handle to 17 inches overall, a lanyard hole and a black Secure-Ex belt sheath.

At this length the tanto geometry matters. A reinforced front corner takes the load when a long blade meets something solid, where a fine point would bend or snap. 4034 is a softer stainless, chosen for a blade this size because it flexes and deforms rather than shattering under impact, and it sharpens back without special equipment.

The extended tang runs past the scales to the butt, so the pommel can take a strike without loading the handle. FRN keeps the weight manageable on a 17-inch knife, and Secure-Ex is Cold Steel's molded thermoplastic sheath material, which holds the blade with a snap and sheds water.
