Description

The Cold Steel Kyoto II has a 3.38-inch satin 8Cr13MoV stainless tanto blade at 6.75 inches overall, a black Kray-Ex handle, a stainless guard and lanyard hole, and a black Secure-Ex belt sheath.

This is the satin-bladed version of the three Kyoto II finishes, and satin is the practical choice of them. It cuts glare without a coating that can wear through, and scratches blend into the brushed surface instead of showing as bright lines the way they do on a blackened blade. The tanto puts a reinforced corner where a curved belly would run, concentrating force at the front for piercing at the cost of a sweeping slice.

Kray-Ex is Cold Steel's soft thermoplastic, tacky enough to hold when hands are wet and forgiving over a long session where a hard scale raises hot spots.
