Description
The Blue Sea Systems 8120 is a 5-position 12V panel with a dual USB output and a 12V dash socket built into the face, rated 50A.
Phones, tablets, handheld VHFs and portable lights are now part of the load on every boat, and running them through an adapter wedged into a cigarette socket is not a system. Building the USB output into the panel puts that load on a protected circuit with the rest, rather than hanging off whatever socket was nearest.
The USB output accepts 12 or 24 volt input, so it works on either system voltage without a different part number. Breakers are magnetic hydraulic and trip free, meaning an overload trips them whether or not someone is holding the switch on.
It sits in the battery management panel range, taking current from a high amperage source and dividing it into lower amperage circuits. At 7.5 by 5.25 by 2.5 inches it suits a helm console or a small cabin bulkhead. Buses are installed, the panel ships fully pre-wired, and ON indicating LEDs with backlit labels are standard. Explore more marine electrical panels.
- USB and 12V socket built into the panel face
- Puts charging on a protected circuit, not a loose adapter
- USB accepts 12 or 24V input
- Trip-free breakers that cannot be held closed
