It is designed for boaters on a single-battery boat who want to avoid getting stranded with a dead battery, one of the most common reasons for a tow.

A status light on both the m-LVD and its Remote Control Switch gives a visual warning of the low-voltage state before disconnect actually happens, with an optional audible alarm available too. The Remote Control Switch lets you adjust the disconnect voltage, temporarily override the disconnect for 10 minutes, or manually force circuits off, and the whole unit is IP67 rated for temporary immersion.
