Description
The Blue Sea Systems 8686 Dual Circuit Plus is the m-Series two-circuit battery management panel with a 100A main and two 15A push button thermal breakers.
The m-Series is the smaller-format version of this panel family, against the e-Series which shares the same circuit arrangement in a different size. Which suits a given boat comes down to the panel space available rather than function, since the two behave identically.
Engine and house circuits stay isolated so the banks discharge independently, with an emergency cross connect available if the start bank ends up flat. Separating the two also keeps electronics away from the voltage sags and spikes that cranking generates, which damage chartplotters and stereos gradually enough that the cause is rarely traced.
The two push button breakers cover 24-hour circuits, the loads that stay live whether or not anyone is aboard. Battery switch operation is simpler than a conventional 1-2-Both arrangement, and fitting an Automatic Charging Relay makes charging both banks automatic. The 4218 and 4140 label sets are included. Explore more marine electrical panels.
- The m-Series format, matching the e-Series in function
- Panel space decides between them, not capability
- Engine and house banks discharge independently
- Two 24-hour circuits for always-live loads
