Description
The Blue Sea Systems 8693 e-Series Dual Circuit Plus 2, part number 5511e, is a battery management panel for twin-engine boats with a 100A main and four 15A thermal breakers.
Keeping the engine circuit isolated from the house circuit is the core function, so the two banks discharge independently. A flat house bank then never leaves the boat unable to start, and an emergency cross connect is there if it comes to that anyway.
Separating the engine side also keeps electronics clear of the voltage sags and spikes that cranking throws into the system. Chartplotters and stereos are what tend to get damaged by that, and the damage is gradual enough that the cause is rarely obvious.
Four positions give 24-hour circuit protection for loads that stay live, bilge pumps and alarms being the usual ones. Adding an Automatic Charging Relay makes charging across both banks automatic rather than something managed by hand. The 4218 square labels and 4140 24-hour round labels are included. Explore more marine electrical panels.
