Description
The Blue Sea Systems 7256 is an 80A C-Series double pole toggle breaker in white, with 5,000 ampere interrupt capacity.
Eighty amps in double pole form gives headroom above the common 50A and 60A mains, suiting a boat whose AC loads have grown past the original specification. Air conditioning, a water heater and a large charger together are what push a boat past a 50A main, and rewiring for the extra capacity means the inlet and shore service have to keep up too.
Used as a 120 volt AC main it switches hot and neutral together, and both poles open if either one trips. That complete isolation is what a main breaker has to do, since a partly isolated circuit is more dangerous than a live one.
Interrupt capacity of 5,000 amperes meets ABYC requirements for 120/240 volt 50 ampere main protection. Trip free construction means the toggle cannot be held on while fault current is flowing. Explore more marine circuit breakers.
