Description
The Blue Sea Systems 7254 is a 60A C-Series double pole toggle breaker in white, with 5,000 ampere interrupt capacity.
Sixty amps is a step up from the common 50A size, for boats whose main protection needs a little more headroom. That headroom only helps where the inlet and shore service actually support it. On a 50A pedestal a 60A main simply lets the dock breaker trip first, which puts the fault outside the boat's control.
In double pole form it serves as a 120 volt AC main, switching hot and neutral together. If either pole trips, both open, so the circuit isolates completely rather than leaving one conductor connected.
Interrupt capacity of 5,000 amperes meets ABYC requirements for 120/240 volt 50 ampere main protection. The trip free design prevents the breaker being held on during a fault current condition. Explore more marine circuit breakers.
- 60A, a step above the common 50A size
- Only useful if the inlet and pedestal support it
- Double pole switches hot and neutral together
- 5,000A interrupt, trip free
