Blue Sea 7048 150A 187-Series Panel Mount Breaker

The Blue Sea Systems 7048 is a 150 amp panel mount breaker in the 187 Series, using a thermal bi-metal blade, rated to 48 volts DC.

The round self-trimming case is the reason this range installs quickly. One hole with a standard hole saw and it is done. A rectangular breaker needs a cutout marked out, cut, and the edges finished. On a fiberglass console that difference is an hour of work and a much better chance of a tidy result.

One hundred and fifty amps suits a large inverter or a substantial house bank feed, sized to the cable rather than to the equipment. That distinction matters. A breaker protects the wire, not the device on the end of it, so the rating follows what the conductor can carry safely.

Interrupt capacity is 5,000 amperes at 12V, 3,000 at 24V and 1,500 at 42V, falling as system voltage rises. The lever's vertical or horizontal position shows trip status at a glance, it is waterproof in a thermoset polyester case, and all components meet SAE J1171 ignition protection.
