Blue Sea 7041 70A 187-Series Panel Mount Breaker

The Blue Sea Systems 7041 is a 70 amp panel mount breaker in the 187 Series, sitting between the 60 and 80 amp units, rated to 48 volts DC.

Seventy amps exists because circuits fall awkwardly between the common sizes, and rounding up is not a safe habit. A breaker larger than the cable can carry protects nothing. If the conductor is rated for 70 amps, that is the breaker it needs rather than the 80 that happened to be in stock.

A thermally responsive bi-metal blade does the protecting, with interrupt capacity of 5,000 amperes at 12 volts DC, 3,000 at 24 and 1,500 at 42. Class is Type III, switchable with manual reset and trip free.

The round self-trimming case installs with a standard hole saw and does away with mounting panels and trim bezels. Recessed mounting holes keep the face clean, 5/16 terminal studs have clearance for heavy gauge lugs, and the large lever shows trip status by its orientation. Waterproof and SAE J1171 compliant.
