The BEP Marine 720-MDVSO Dual Operation VSS is a 500A voltage-sensitive battery switch for 12V or 24V banks, with a remote emergency parallel function.

Dual battery sensing is the distinction here. The switch responds to charging voltage on either bank rather than only monitoring one, so it works whichever side the charge arrives from. That matters where a boat has both an alternator and a shore charger feeding different banks at different times.
