Description

The BEP Marine 720-MDO Remote Operated Battery Switch uses an optical sensor so it can be mounted right next to the battery, cutting down on cable length and copper cost. It is designed for boaters and installers who want remote isolation of bow and stern thrusters or main battery banks without running long, heavy cable runs.

Mounting the switch close to the battery reduces both cable length and gauge, saving real money and weight in copper cable while cutting installation labor. The optical sensor connection also lets you switch mixed-voltage circuits, such as a 48V bow thruster off a 24V house supply, and draws less than 5mA on standby. Browse more options in our panels, switches, and circuit breakers category.

Key Features

  • Optical sensor allows remote mounting near the battery
  • reduces cable length and gauge needed
  • can switch mixed-voltage circuits
  • LED status indication
  • manual override meets CE/ABYC requirements

Frequently Asked Questions

Why mount this next to the battery instead of the helm? It lets you use shorter, smaller-gauge cable runs, saving cost and weight in copper cable.

Can this switch mixed-voltage circuits? Yes, the optical sensor connection can control different voltage circuits, such as a 48V thruster off a 24V house supply.

What's the standby power draw? It draws less than 5mA on standby.
