BEP Marine 701-MDVS-D Motorized Dual VSS Switch

The BEP Marine 701-MDVS-D is a motorized dual-sensing voltage-sensitive switch with a Deutsch connector, rated 275A continuous and 1,250A cranking.

The Deutsch connector is the reason to choose this over the standard 701-MDVS. It is a sealed keyed plug that cannot be connected wrongly and resists water ingress at the connection point. On a boat where the switch sits somewhere damp, or where the harness may be disconnected for service, that sealed connection is worth more than the price difference.

Engine-run logic changes the disconnect behavior according to conditions, keeping charging continuous while the engine runs without leaving the banks combined after shutdown. That is more intelligent than a simple voltage threshold, which can chatter in and out as voltage hovers near the cut-in point.

Dual-battery sensing responds when either bank reaches charging voltage, and a dash-mounted momentary control parallels the banks for ten minutes when extra starting help is needed.
