Description
The BEP Marine 275A Emergency Parallel Switch is a remote-activated switch that combines two same-voltage banks for ten minutes, with 2,500A cranking capability.
This is the 275A version of the emergency parallel switch, below the 500A model, and the continuous rating is the difference rather than the cranking capacity. Both handle 2,500 amps briefly for starting. The 275A rating is what the switch handles continuously, so it suits a smaller system where the 500A model is more switch than the boat needs.
Unlike the voltage-sensitive models, this does emergency parallel only and never combines the banks for charging. That makes it the right choice where charge management is already handled by a separate relay or cluster, and the wrong one where it is not.
A momentary dash control parallels the banks for ten minutes, then the switch turns itself off so the reserve battery cannot be flattened by a forgotten connection. Tinned copper conductors, stainless nuts and high-temperature fiber-reinforced plastics suit harsh conditions, with ignition protection, a manual override and recessed or surface mounting. Explore more battery switches.
- 275A continuous, below the 500A model
- Cranking capacity is the same 2,500A on both
- Emergency parallel only, never combining for charge
- Ten-minute timer protects the reserve battery
