Balmar Serpentine Pulley Conversion Kit for Lehman

The Balmar AltMount Serpentine Pulley Conversion Kit converts Ford/Lehman FL80 and FL120 engines to a J10 ten-groove serpentine drive.

Three pulleys are included so the whole engine drive converts as one system. Fitting a serpentine alternator to an engine still running V-belt pulleys elsewhere does not work, and mixing pulley styles across a drive is not something that can be done partway.

Two J10 belts at 55-inch circumference come with the kit, giving one to fit and one to carry as a spare. That is worth having on a conversion, since a serpentine belt in an unusual size is not something a chandlery will stock.

The conversion exists because V-belts limit how much alternator output an engine can drive. A high-output alternator slips a V-belt before it reaches full output, and no amount of tensioning fixes it. Serpentine spreads the load across ten ribs instead. Explore more alternator mounts and pulleys.
