ARCO Honda Suzuki 4-Bolt Tilt Trim Motor

The ARCO 6234 is a replacement tilt and trim motor for Honda BF175, BF200, and BF225 outboards from 2002 on, along with a range of Suzuki models that use the same motor. It has a 4-bolt mount and a round plug-in connector, so it connects to the factory harness without splicing. An O-ring is included to seal the motor to the pump body. The BF175 through BF225 are V6 engines, and they put real demand on the trim system when lifting a heavy lower unit.

On the Honda side it replaces 36120-ZY3-013, and it also crosses to Sierra 18-6742. The Suzuki list is long, including 38100-93J02 through 38100-93J04, 38100-93J10 through 38100-93J13, 38100-93L00 and 93L01, and the 38100-96J series. If your old motor carries any of these numbers, it is a direct swap.

Inspect the pins and socket of the plug-in connector for green corrosion and clean them before connecting, since a poor contact starves the motor of current. Support the outboard in the raised position with the tilt lock while you work, and keep dirt out of the pump opening.
