ARCO Yamaha 4-Bolt Tilt Trim Motor, 5/8-Inch Shaft

The ARCO 6258 is a replacement tilt and trim motor for Yamaha 75 and 90 HP 4-stroke outboards from 2005 on. It has a 4-bolt mount, a 2-wire connection with ring terminals, and a 5/8-inch flat blade shaft that drives the pump. An O-ring and a coupler come in the box, so the seal and the drive connection are new along with the motor.

It replaces Yamaha 6D8-43880-00, 6D8-43880-01, 6D8-43880-09, and 6D8-43880-0800, as well as Quicksilver 8M6007566. Yamaha uses several similar trim motors across its lineup, so the 6D8 prefix on your old motor is the easiest way to confirm a match. The armature is tested at 50 times the 12-volt operating voltage, and the housing has an epoxy powder coat to fight salt corrosion.

Tilt the engine up and set the tilt support before starting work, then disconnect the battery. Fit the new O-ring, line up the flat blade with the coupler, and tighten the four bolts evenly so the motor seats square on the pump.
