Description
The ACR GlobalFix V6 EPIRB Category I is a versatile Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon suited to both recreational and commercial vessels, built on Return Link Service (RLS) and Near Field Communication (NFC).
Return Link Service gives you real peace of mind, confirming both that the distress message went out and that it actually arrived. NFC lets the beacon pair with a smartphone for quick diagnostics, confirming both that the battery has power and the unit checks out as ready. It covers the range from coastal day trips to open-ocean passages to commercial fishing work anywhere at sea.
The GlobalFix V6 pinpoints its position globally through GNSS (GPS, Galileo, Glonass), and triggering it fires a digital mayday over 406 MHz, carrying your GPS position good to within 100 meters back to the worldwide Cospas-Sarsat network, with position and identification relayed to ground stations to help determine the scope of the rescue. A 121.5 MHz homing signal transmits alongside the satellite signal once activated, helping rescuers close in once they reach the scene, which matters if the beacon has since drifted from the original location. Visual and infrared strobes help pinpoint the beacon further.
See what else we carry in EPIRBs, PLBs & distress signals.
- Category I hydrostatic release, auto-deploy
- RLS confirmation direct to beacon, NFC and mobile app included
- White and infrared strobe
