Description

The ACR GlobalFix V5 Cat 2 GPS AIS EPIRB pairs 406 MHz satellite reach with Automatic Identification System (AIS) capability, meaning triggering it does more than fire off a distress signal through the global Cospas-Sarsat network, it also puts out an AIS safety alert over VHF that any nearby vessel running AIS equipment will catch right away.

Return Link Service (RLS) gives you visual confirmation your distress message was received, a 121.5 MHz homing signal helps rescuers close in, and visible plus infrared strobes make the beacon easier to spot at night or in poor visibility. Near Field Communication (NFC) lets you monitor the EPIRB through ACR's smartphone app. ACR has earned its standing as a top name in marine safety electronics, and the GlobalFix V5 reflects that, blending genuine build quality with technology aimed squarely at cutting rescue response time.

The GlobalFix V5 pinpoints its position anywhere in the world through GNSS (GPS, Galileo, Glonass) positioning. Once triggered, it fires a 406 MHz distress signal carrying a GPS fix good to within 100 meters, routed through the worldwide Cospas-Sarsat network, with identifiers and location relayed to ground stations to kick off rescue operations. The AIS signal then lets nearby vessels see your position directly.

Look through the rest of our EPIRBs, PLBs & distress signals.

  • Output power 406.040 MHz at 5W nominal, 121.5 MHz at 50mW nominal
  • AIS alerts for local rescue, RLS confirmation direct to beacon
  • NFC and mobile app included, white and infrared dual strobe
  • 72-Channel multi-constellation GPS receiver (GPS, Galileo, Glonass)
