Description

The ACR Firefly PRO WATERBUG is a SOLAS approved strobe with a water sensor that switches it on automatically the moment it is submerged.

Automatic activation is the reason to choose this over a manual strobe. Someone going into the water unconscious, or with hands too cold to work a switch, still gets a light. Four modes cover armed for auto-activation, an ultra-bright strobe, an SOS strobe and steady-on, so it can also be used deliberately.

Wide-emission LEDs give a true 360 degree beam at 41 candela, visible beyond three miles. Cool white output avoids the yellow cast other strobes have, which reads more clearly at distance. A pair of AA lithium cells runs it strobing for over 56 hours or steady-on for 28, beating USCG and SOLAS minimums by more than 48 hours.

The compact housing fits inside an inflatable life jacket or a pocket, and the military-spec shell takes years of hard use. Two lashing loops and a Velcro strap are included for mounting to a jacket, belt or pack, so it is on the person rather than in a locker. Explore more distress signals and safety lights.

  • Water sensor switches it on automatically when submerged
  • Works for someone unconscious or with hands too cold
  • 360 degrees at 41 candela, visible past three miles
  • 56 hours strobing on two AA lithium cells
