Description

The ACR OLAS Exposure Series Float-On is a buoyant wearable man overboard transmitter in orange, doubling as an LED flashlight with an automatic water-activated strobe.

The OLAS system works as a virtual tether. The transmitter stays paired to a phone or tablet running the app, and when it goes out of range the connection breaks. Within eight seconds the device sounds an alarm and records the position from its own GPS, then guides the crew back with onscreen bearing data and keeps a log for rescue services.

The strobe is the backup for when the phone alarm is not enough. Water sensors fire it after six seconds of contact, flashing once a second for up to 20 hours and visible up to three nautical miles. Six seconds is deliberate. A shorter delay would trigger on spray, and a longer one wastes time in a real overboard.

It attaches to adults, children, pets or objects such as overboard flotation, and moves between boats without reconfiguration. Solo mode adds protection when boating alone, though it requires a 2G phone signal to work. Explore more immersion suits and flotation apparel.

  • Virtual tether alerts within 8 seconds of losing range
  • Records the GPS position and guides the crew back
  • Strobe fires after 6 seconds in the water
  • Solo mode needs a 2G signal to function
