Xantrex XPower 1500 GFCI Remote Inverter UL458

The Xantrex XPower 1500 is a 12V inverter with two GFCI receptacles, heavy-duty stud terminals and a remote On/Off switch, certified to UL458.

This is the smaller XPower against the 3000W model, and both are inverter-only units without transfer or charging. Fifteen hundred watts still draws around 150 amps from a 12V bank at full output, so the stud terminals and heavy cable are as necessary here as on the larger unit.

The remote On/Off switch comes included, which matters because a high-output inverter mounts close to the batteries where the DC run is short. That is almost never somewhere convenient, and an inverter that is awkward to switch off gets left running.

Two GFCI receptacles allow protected connections for multiple devices, and mounting brackets simplify permanent installation. Protection covers overload shutdown, over-temperature shutdown, over-voltage, low-voltage alarm and low-voltage cutout, with UL458 and applicable CSA certification.
