Description

The Xantrex PROwatt SW1000 delivers 900W continuous of true sine wave AC from 12V, with 2000W surge, dual GFCI receptacles and a USB port.

The continuous rating is 900W despite the 1000 in the model name, and that is the figure the load list has to fit within. Two thousand watts of surge covers starting demands, but nothing sustained above 900 will run. Sizing on the model number rather than the specification is the common mistake.

The digital display shows DC input voltage, AC output power and error codes. Error codes on the unit itself matter when something shuts down. Without them, a tripped inverter tells you nothing about whether it was voltage, temperature or overload.

Dual GFCI receptacles give protected connections and a built-in USB port powers small devices directly. An optional remote switch adds ignition lockout for vehicle installations, and protection covers low-voltage alarm and shutdown, over-voltage, overload, over-temperature and GFCI. Explore more power inverters.

  • 900W continuous despite the 1000 in the name
  • 2000W surge, but nothing sustained above 900
  • Display shows error codes, not just voltage
  • A tripped inverter otherwise tells you nothing
