Description

The Xantrex Freedom X 3000 is a 3000W pure sine wave inverter with a 30A transfer relay and ignition control.

Ignition control turns the inverter on or off from a 12V signal, which is more useful than it first appears. Wired to the ignition, the inverter runs only when the engine does. That prevents the common failure of leaving a 3000W inverter switched on at anchor and finding the house bank flat in the morning.

It surges to twice its continuous rating for two seconds, which is what starts refrigerators and microwaves rather than tripping on their inrush. Six thousand watts briefly is a substantial reserve, and it is the figure that decides whether a compressor will actually start.

A built-in transfer relay switches connected loads to shore or generator AC automatically when outside power is available. Full rated output holds through a broad operating-temperature range, and the wide DC input range accommodates modern charging systems that vary their voltage. Explore more power inverters.

  • Ignition control ties the inverter to the engine
  • Stops a 3000W inverter flattening the bank at anchor
  • Surges to 6000W for two seconds
  • That reserve is what starts a compressor
