Wichard Chain Grip for 3/8-Inch 10mm Chain

The Wichard Chain Grip fits 3/8-inch 10mm chain, forged in one piece from Duplex stainless steel.

A chain grip transfers the anchor load from the windlass to a snubber or cleat, and that transfer is not optional on an overnight anchorage. A windlass is built to lift chain, not to hold a boat against wind and swell. Leaving the load on it wears the gypsy and eventually the gearbox, and the chain chafes the rub rail and roller chock with every swing.

It positions between two links and is built for single-handed operation, which matters because the other hand is usually holding the snubber line. Once seated, the design actively resists accidental release rather than relying on the load alone to keep it in place.

The one-piece construction has no moving parts to wear, jam or fail under load. Duplex stainless gives greater mechanical strength and corrosion resistance than standard 316, which is worth having on a fitting holding the whole boat. Made in France. Explore more anchor accessories.
