The Viega MegaPress 316 1/2-Inch FKM FPT Stainless Adapter presses onto 1/2 inch pipe and finishes in a 1/2 inch female pipe thread.

Female thread means something screws into this fitting. If the equipment you are joining to carries a female port instead, the MPT version is the one you want. It is a press connection, made with a pressing tool rather than threading or brazing, so there is no open flame and no cutting threads in place. Suits Schedule 5 through Schedule 40 stainless pipe.
