Viega MegaPress 316 0.75x0.5-Inch FKM MPT Adapter

The Viega MegaPress 316 0.75x0.5-Inch FKM MPT Adapter presses onto 3/4 in stainless pipe on one end and has a 1/2 in male pipe thread on the other. Adapters like this connect a press system to threaded ports on tanks, manifolds, pumps and valves. Male thread means this fitting screws into a female port. Because the thread is one size smaller than the pipe, it also works as a reducer, which saves a separate fitting.

MegaPress joins stainless pipe with a press tool and MegaPress jaws instead of threading, welding or brazing. There is no open flame or hot work involved, which matters in a boat's engine room or bilge. Cut the pipe square, deburr it, mark the insertion depth and press, and the joint is done in seconds. Use a thread sealant rated for the fluid in the line on the threaded side.

Inside each press end, the grip ring bites into the pipe to hold it, the separator ring protects the seal, and the FKM sealing element makes the leak-tight joint. FKM handles higher temperatures and resists oils and fuels better than standard EPDM seals. The fitting works with Schedule 5 through Schedule 40 stainless steel pipe. The body is 316 stainless steel, which has molybdenum for better pitting and corrosion resistance in salt air and salt water than 304.
