The Viega MegaPress 316 Reducer steps 3/4 inch pipe down to 1/2 inch, in 316 stainless with FKM sealing elements.

Three quarter to half inch is the final reduction in most systems, where a distribution line drops to serve a single fixture or appliance. At that end of a system the fittings outnumber the pipe, so the speed of a press connection saves more time than it does on a long straight run.

Press fittings are also inspectable. A properly pressed joint has a visible deformation in the fitting, so an installation can be checked visually rather than by pressure testing alone.
