Description

The Victron MultiPlus 24/2000 50-50 is a pure sine wave inverter charger for 24V systems, with a 50A charger and 50A transfer switch.

PowerControl is worth separating from PowerAssist, since the two do different things and get confused. PowerControl limits how much current the MultiPlus draws from the external source, so other AC loads get priority over battery charging. PowerAssist goes further and adds battery power to the incoming supply when loads exceed it.

The architecture also allows certain non-critical loads to stay dependent on external AC rather than discharging the battery when shore power is lost. That is a useful distinction on a boat where a water heater should stop when the shore cord comes out but the electronics should not.

The main AC output gives no-break operation, transferring to inverter power in under 20 milliseconds. Compatible installations can parallel multiple units for greater output and support split-phase or three-phase configurations. This is the 24V version. Explore more inverter chargers.

  • PowerControl limits draw; PowerAssist adds to it
  • Non-critical loads can stay tied to shore power
  • A water heater stops, the electronics do not
  • 50A charger and 50A transfer on 24V
