Victron 4500W 115/230V AC Isolation Transformer

The Victron 4500W isolation transformer separates the boat's onboard AC wiring electrically from the shore supply. This is particularly important where a direct shore-earth connection can contribute to galvanic corrosion of underwater metal fittings. The transformer is specified for automatic 115/230V arrangements.

An isolation transformer transfers AC power magnetically rather than through a continuous metal conductor between the two systems. That allows the onboard protective earthing arrangement to be designed independently of the dockside supply. The 4500W rating must be considered alongside the connected appliances and shore-power breaker size.

Correct installation is critical because the transformer sits within a safety-sensitive AC electrical system. It does not eliminate the need for ground-fault protection or appropriate circuit breakers.
