The Victron Cyrix-Li-Load 120A is a microprocessor-controlled relay switching heavy DC circuits from a low-current control signal.

Switching a large load with a small signal is the whole function, and it avoids running the main circuit through a control switch. A 120 amp circuit routed to a helm switch and back needs heavy cable in both directions. A relay puts the switching where the load is and runs a signal wire to the control.

It gives high-current electronic control without the voltage loss a diode-based arrangement would introduce. That matters on a lithium system where the charging voltages are precise and any drop in the path affects what the bank actually receives.
