Description
The Victron Cyrix-Li-ct 230A is a microprocessor-controlled combiner joining a lead-acid starter battery to a LiFePO4 service bank when charging.
Combining lead-acid and lithium needs more care than combining two lead-acid banks, and this is built for exactly that pairing. The two chemistries charge at different voltages and behave differently as they fill, so a simple voltage-sensing relay is not enough to manage the connection safely.
It closes only when the VE.Bus BMS charge-disconnect output is active and voltage reaches around 13.4V on 12V or 26.8V on 24V. Requiring the BMS signal as well as the voltage is the safeguard: the lithium bank's own management has to agree before the connection is made.
That means a VE.Bus BMS has to be part of the system for the combiner to work at all. Two hundred and thirty amps is the rating, and it should exceed the charging current the connection will actually carry. Explore more Relays, Combiners & Disconnects.
