VDO Reed Switch Fuel Senders use a floatless, tubular design rather than the rotating float arm and resistance cards a conventional aftermarket sender relies on, avoiding the erratic pointer movement that design can cause when fuel sloshes around in a moving boat.

The tubular shape acts as its own dampener against fuel slosh, and with no side-to-side moving parts, there's nothing inside to wear out over years of use, making it ideal where a conventional swing arm won't fit due to clearance issues inside the tank.
