VDO Reed Switch 400MM Tank Depth Fuel Sender

The VDO 400mm Reed Switch Fuel Sender serves fuel tanks needing a longer vertical measurement than the compact 150mm to 200mm models. Its 400mm straight tube extends into the tank without requiring the side clearance of a swing-arm mechanism. That layout can be helpful where baffles or nearby tank walls limit the travel of a traditional float arm.

The tubular housing helps buffer fuel slosh around the sensing assembly as the boat changes speed or direction. By avoiding a pivoting external float arm and exposed resistance-card contacts, this sender reduces the number of mechanical contact points of a conventional design. Its operating fit must still be checked against the intended gauge and tank configuration.

This 400mm model features stainless steel construction and an ethanol-resistant Viton gasket. It mounts through an SAE five-hole flange at the top of the tank, with a neoprene gasket and mounting hardware included. Measure the tank from the mounting surface and allow for internal obstructions before ordering.
