Uflex UC95OBF-1 Hydraulic Cylinder for 175HP or Less

The Uflex UC95OBF-1 is a front-mount outboard steering cylinder for single engines of 175 horsepower or less. It is sized for small and midsize outboard boats where a larger cylinder is more than the job needs. The cylinder is balanced, and the rod, seals, and link assemblies are stainless steel with a stainless ULTRABOLT connection.

Installation is easier than on many cylinders, since the mounting rod is split and pinned and bushings reduce friction against the engine. The boss-style fittings adjust to line up with your hoses, and the split rod also makes removal easier when the engine needs service. It works with competing helms, hoses, and oil. For boats in the 175 hp class, a cylinder sized to the engine keeps the steering light and responsive without the cost of a bigger unit, and the stainless hardware handles saltwater use.

Confirm your engine is 175 hp or under before ordering. When replacing an older cylinder, change the hydraulic fluid if it looks dark or cloudy, then bleed the system until the wheel feels firm in both directions. For bigger engines, look at the UC128 cylinders in our hydraulic steering systems.
