Uflex Aluminum Inboard Hydraulic Steering Cylinder

The Uflex UC116-I is an aluminum hydraulic steering cylinder for inboard boats. It has a 1.25-inch bore and a 7-inch stroke, displacing 116 cc (7 cu. in.), with 1,023 pounds of output force. It is the smaller of the Uflex inboard cylinders we carry.

It suits boats whose rudder does not need the force of the larger UC168-I. The cylinder is balanced for equal turns in both directions, and the aluminum body keeps weight down in the stern of smaller inboard boats and runabouts. Match the helm displacement to the 116 cc cylinder volume to get the steering feel you want. Aluminum construction keeps it light and corrosion resistant, and its 7-inch stroke and balanced design give an even feel from hard port to hard starboard.

Mount the cylinder so it pushes the tiller arm in a straight line, and check that the rudder reaches its full angle without the cylinder bottoming out. Bleed the system thoroughly after installation, and keep the rod clean and free of paint or growth, since debris on the rod wears the seals.
