The Tecnoseal Mini Plate Anode measures 6 x 4 x 1/2 inches and mounts to the hull below the waterline. It's sized for smaller boats or as a supplemental anode. It protects metal tied into the bonding system.

An anode is a sacrificial metal that corrodes in place of your drive, propeller and other underwater metal. Choose the anode metal to match your water: magnesium for fresh water only, aluminum for fresh, brackish or salt, and zinc for salt. Using the wrong metal can leave underwater parts unprotected.

Replace anodes when they're about half consumed, and never paint them, because paint stops them from working. Clean the mounting surface to bare metal before installing so the anode makes good electrical contact.
